Lee's Hill Lightning News - End of Year Awards Banquet Reminder - Sunday August 2nd at 5:00 PM - SOUTH POOL

Lee’s Hill Lightning Families,

Just wanted to send out a short reminder that the Awards Banquet E-VITE has been sent out.

Apparently, some of the E-VITEs have gone into Spam folders, so if you have not seen the invite – please check your Spam folders.

Tammy tells me that we are getting a very nice response!  But we just wanted to check to make sure the message is making it to everyone!

Again – reminder the Awards Banquet will be at the SOUTH pool this year!  Start time is 5:00 PM.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

See everyone at the pool!

Go Lightning Fast!

Bob

Lee's Hill Lightning News! Poster Contest for End of Year Events!

Hello Lee’s Hill Lightning families!

Coach Claire has decided to have a poster contest this weekend!  It’s just another way to build team spirit!

The theme is “Lee’s Hill Lightning!”.  Encourage your kids to be creative and have fun with this project!  There are no rules for size, color, or content.

We would like to have your posters completed and submitted to Coach Claire by the Team Breakfast on Friday July 31, so they can be judged!

Posters will also be taken to finals and displayed with available wall space, and then again at the South Pool on Sunday for our Awards Banquet!

Good luck and have fun!

Lee's Hill Lightning News - Friday Breakfast and Sunday's Awards Celebration

Lightning News - Friday Breakfast and Sunday's Awards Celebration

Hi Lightning families!

As we enter the last week of a wonderful swim team season, there are two fun events coming up for our Lightning swimmers and families—the swim team breakfast and the end of the year banquet.

After each practice this Friday July 31, swimmers will enjoy a swim team breakfast.    Please send in a breakfast food to share for EACH swimmer in your family, which will be shared directly following their swim session.  For example , if you have a swimmer in both the first and second

session, please send food to share for both sessions.  Ideas for food can be fruit, pastries, donuts, muffins, or casseroles.  If it requires a serving utensil, please provide.

The end of year banquet will be held on Sunday, August 2nd, the day after finals.  The banquet will be at the SOUTH side pool (this is a change from past years) and will be held rain or shine.  This is a pot luck style banquet, with the swim team providing burgers and hot dogs.  The

banquet will start at 5:00pm and includes time for families to swim, eat dinner, elect new board members, and then the presentation of awards for the year.

We ask that each family bring a dish to share (enough for approximately 15 people), based upon your last name.

A-F,  please bring a dessert

G-K, please bring a pasta or casserole dish (e.g. mac and cheese,  tortellini, etc)

L-Q, please bring a salad (e.g. green, potato, pasta)

R-Z, please bring a fruit dish

Also, please bring drinks for your family, and if your dish requires a serving utensil, please provide.

We hope you can attend these fun events!   You will be receiving an e-mail Evite for the banquet.  Please, please RSVP via that e-mail.  It is important that we know how many family members will be attending the banquet so that we can purchase the burgers and hot dogs for the

appropriate number of people. If you have any problems with the Evite, please e-mail us directly (Tamstohr14@gmail.com).

See you soon!

Lee's Hill Lightning News Flash! Upcoming Events

Dear Lee’s Hill Lightning families,

Next Saturday, on August 1,2015, we will be participating in the most important and fun day of the season!  The American Division Finals at the King George YMCA.  This is the grand finale of our season!  It will be an exciting day, as we have had some very close and exciting dual meets throughout the season!  I look forward to spending the day with all of you as we cheer on our swimmers!

We want to remind everyone that this coming Friday, July 31, 2015 we will be having a pot luck breakfast for our swimmers after they practice.  We will be asking you to bring something to share with the team.  It’s a nice way to finish off our practice season.

The day after finals, on Sunday, August 2, 2015 we will be having our Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting at the SOUTH pool.  This is a party at the pool for the team.  We have decided to go to the south side for more indoor space if needed.  This, too, is a pot luck event.  Please look for more emails regarding what your family should bring based on the first letter of your last name.  We want to have as many families attend as possible so you can all celebrate the season with us.

Attending the Annual Meeting is very important too!  This is your opportunity to hear about the general business of the team and how we stand, as well as to participate in nominations and elections for next year’s board of directors.  We have 5 positions on the board that will be vacated this year due to 3 year term limits per our bylaws.  Start thinking about who you would like to have in the following positions:  Chairperson, Meet Director, Spirit, Social and At-Large position.  We would like for you to start talking to other swim parents on the team and think of  individuals who can keep our team moving in positive directions!!   In prior years, the Spirit and Social Director were one position, then the board allowed two people to share the position and split the title.  It could easily go back to one position if desired by the team.   Below are the positions and job descriptions for you to ponder.  We would like you to send us any nominations by Friday, July 31.  However, nominations will also be accepted at the business meeting.

Lee's Hill Lightning News - MONDAY NIGHTS AWAY MEET INFORMATION - LAKE OF THE WOODS

Lee’s Hill Lightning Families,

Good Morning!  I hope that everyone is excited for our last dual meet of the season!

Please try to arrive at the pool NO later than 4:45 PM to get settled, and meet with coaches.

When I Google mapped the trip from the our North Pool to the Lake of the Woods pool; it came up with about a 40 minute trip – so plan accordingly for Route 3 traffic.

Here is a message from the Lake of the Woods RSL Rep:

The meet will start at 6pm, Lee's Hill will have warm ups from 5:20 to 5:50.  The visiting side of the pool is the left side as you walk in but you are really welcome to sit anywhere.

Our concession stand will be open and serving everything from Nachos in a Bag to Cheeseburgers and candy.  This is our last meet so we will have everything until we run out, I am sure you know how that is.  Swimmers and families are welcome to bring their own food and drink but please refrain from selling anything.

Other than that it is just the standard "please pick up after yourselves and drive safely".  As a reminder, all speed limits in Lake of the Woods are 25mph or slower where posted.  Visitors will need to stop at the guard shack on the way in and just tell them you are here for the swim meet.  The front gate is off Rt 3 (Plank Rd).   The entrance off Flat Run is only for members so please be careful not to let GPS steer you there.

We look forward to having you at our pool.
