Lightning News Flash

Thanks to everyone that helped on Saturday at the Mock meet. We call it a practice meet for many reasons - one of them is to work through any glitches (and we had a few on Saturday!). Thanks for your patience, too!

Wednesday, June 20th is our first meet at Woodlands. Swimmers should be at the Woodlands pool by 4:30pm.
The meet will begin at 6:00pm. If you haven't signed up for jobs, please go to mysignups.com or contact Cathy Chamberlain - olearychamberlain@gmail.com.

If your swimmer will not be at the meet please let Coach Jay - usa_aus@verizon.net by noon on Monday (they start planning the meet on Monday evening).

When you arrive at the pool:
                    Swimmers should check in with the coaches
                    Parents should check in with Cathy Chamberlain to let her know you are there and ready to work.

Notes from Woodlands: PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE NOT TO PARK!

1)  Your families should set up their chairs/gear in the grass by the deep end of the pool, by concessions.  Overflow goes by the bleachers area by the starting blocks.  There is usually ample room in the concessions area.  If you have any questions, our Board members can guide you.  We usually are easy to find or tracked down.

 

2)  We have full concessions including sno-cones and pretzels (normally, at least).

 

 3)  Directions (regarding parking in the road directly in front of the pool--people sometimes ignore this.  Do so at your own risk.  Sheriffs do show up and ticket.).  Overflow parking is handled quite easily in the surrounding neighborhood, including sidestreets off of Northampton.

DIRECTIONS: From I-95 take exit 143B (GARRISONVILLE) onto westbound GARRISONVILLE RD (VA-610 W). Drive west 2 miles and turn left at the stoplight onto EUSTACE RD (WaWa is on the corner). Proceed south for 0.8 miles to the first stop sign. Turn left at the 4-way intersection onto NORTHAMPTON BLVD; Woodlands Pool is located on the right (southeast corner of the intersection). The parking lot is moderately sized. Overflow parking is available on the shoulders of Eustace Rd, Northampton Blvd, and adjacent neighborhood streets. Do not park in front of the pool on either side of Northampton Blvd -- the sheriff's department will ticket vehicles that obstruct the flow of traffic. Ample deck space.
