Lee’s Hill Lightning Families,
Our Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebee’s was a huge success! We profited almost $500!!! It was our best fundraiser yet! Special thanks goes to Nikki Hyldahl, our Spirit Chair for organizing this event. Also to Melissa De La Torre who donated her time and talent by embroidering aprons with a lightning bolt and LHST on it to make us look spiffy and professional!!! We will have the aprons available for the concessions team so hopefully, you will have a chance to see her beautiful work at our home meets! Additionally, we would also like to recognize Chris McKnight who stepped up to the plate (literally, he prepared each plate) at the last second when we needed an extra parent to help in the kitchen! Thank you so much Chris! Nikki kept up with making coffee, and Bob and I kept track of the kids in the dining area, tickets, money and greeting our guests! Thanks to each of you who came out to breakfast and supported the team! We had a great group of swimmers that delighted in being hosts, waiters and bus boys!! Special thanks to each of them! Brooke H., Connor H., Rylie W., Elizabeth D., Charlotte D., Allie H., Douglas W., Adrian M., Alexa S., Caroline W., Kellie M., Aaron H., Robbie H., and Aiden W. You all showed great team spirit and enthusiasm in your volunteer roles! The Applebee’s staff was a pleasure to work with and gave our polite, hardworking kids some great compliments! The Applebee’s manager is ready to hire them as soon as they are 16!!
The morning was definitely a team effort and we were winners in every way! We are so proud of this team!
