Lee’s Hill Lightning Families,
I just wanted to say that I thought all our swimmers did a wonderful job last night during the exhibition meet! It was pretty tight quarters and very hard to hear but, I think it was a well-run meet and all our swimmers performed well.
I especially want to congratulate all the 6 and under swimmers, as well as all the new swimmers who swam yesterday! I was very proud watching you all make that first leap into the pool for your first real race ever, and I was very excited to see everyone cheering all the swimmers on to do their very best. The cheering, sportsmanship, and community spirit, and all these first leaps are what this is all about.
I want to thank all the volunteers who helped out! I believe it was the first time that I have had all my slots filled. Without your support we could not put on a successful meet.
To all the new families, congratulations on surviving your first away swim meet! You will all be seasoned veterans by the end of the season. Wait until next week when we hold our first home meet, it gets even better!
I thought everything went very well, and that we should be ready for a great first meet on Wednesday. I took away a few lessons learned from yesterday. If anyone has any suggestions on how I could make things better – please let me know.
NEXT WEEK: Coach Jay wanted me to pass on that next week’s Monday and Tuesday Evening Practices and Stroke and Turn Clinics are Cancelled.
Also, Friday July 4th practices will also all be cancelled.
Reminder about the "Missed Meet" Form - please notify Coach Jay by Monday afternoon if your child will not be at the meet. (Don't forget to mention all the swimmers in your family that won't be there). The form is on the website, in the Family Box at the pool during practice, or you can email Coach Jay at

For any new families – the 2014 Swim Team Handbook is now on the website. There is a lot of valuable information covered in the handbook.
See you at the pool!
Go Lightning!

Mission Statement
The Lee's Hill Lightning Swim Team is dedicated to the physical and emotional development of its swimmers. We instill in our swimmers and their parents the principles of good sportsmanship, teamwork, competitiveness, community spirit, and individual and team improvement along with the relentless pursuit of fun in the sport of swimming.
"Mainly, I like to have fun. Swimming is all about having fun, and I am firm believer that you should keep swimming as long as you are having fun, but I can say that it becomes much more fun as you get older and learn more about the sport, life, and especially more about yourself".
