Lee's Hill Lightning News - Parent Coach's Meeting - RSL Training Reminder - Mock Meet Time & Help Needed

To All Lee’s Hill Lightning Families,

 

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend!  What wonderful weather so far!

 

Just wanted to send out a few bits of information:

 

Parent Coaches Meeting – Tuesday June 10^th at 6 pm

 

Coach Jay is holding the Coach/Parent meeting this Tuesday June 10^th at 6pm.

 

All new parents are encouraged to come as well as returning parents.

 

Important information will be passed!

 

RSL Training Session

 

The forth RSL training session is scheduled for this Wednesday the 11^th of June 2014 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Spotsylvania YMCA.

 

I really appreciate all the parents who have completed training so far this year!!

 

For all of those that are currently trained Stroke and Turn judges (which is a requirement to be a Referee) , we are still in need of additional Referees!

 

We would really like to use Administrative Referees to process any DQ slips from the Stroke and Turn Officials, it really helps to make the meet run smoother, and takes some of the pressure off the Head Referee.

 

Please consider attending the Referee training this week.

 

Also – for those with computer and organizational skills, I would ask that you attend the Head Scorer training.  We are very lucky to have an absolutely wonderful and highly skilled scoring room,  I believe that are current Head Scorers would be great mentors to newly trained Head

 

Scorers. I promise they will not throw you under the bus!

 

For those of you who need to recertify in Stroke and Turn – you can either attend an RSL training session or complete the online course at StrokeAndTurn.com.  I have “keys” provided by the RSL at reduced rates that the team will pay for.

 

If you are interested in any other positions – please feel free to train for whatever you feel most comfortable doing.  Remember most RSL training is good for two years.

 

Mock Meet

 

On Saturday the 14^th of June from 6:30 am to approximately 10:00 am we will hold our mock meet at the North Pool.

 

Set up will begin at 6:00 am, Coach Jay asked that the swimmers report to the pool by 6:30 am to warm up, and the meet will start at 7:00 am.

 

We will NOT swim any relays, Coach Jay will have more information to pass at Tuesday Coach/Parent Meeting.

 

The mock meet is a good opportunity for those swimmers not familiar with how a swim meet runs to become familiar with where they need to be and when. 

 

I am in need of some help!  Shari and I will be at the Fredericksburg Soap Box Derby on Saturday racing with the girls.

 

I am looking for someone to take the lead in setting up and helping things to run smoothly during the Mock Meet.

 

I will provide the list of volunteers from SignUpGenius , I just need someone to take the lead.

 

I will send out more information on the mock meet later!
