Lee's Hill Lightning News - Parent Coach's Meeting - Mock Meet Times & Help Needed

To All Lee’s Hill Lightning Families,

I hope that everyone is having a great start to their week!

Our swimmers are getting some great practices in!!  Very Proud of all our returning and new swimmers!

Just wanted to send out a few bits of information for this week’s events:

Parent Coaches Meeting Prior to the Mock Meet – Thursday June 16th at 5:00 pm

Coach Claire is holding the Coach/Parent meeting this Thursday June 16th at 5:00 pm.

All new parents are encouraged to come as well as returning parents.

Important information will be passed!

Mock Meet

On Thursday the 16th of June from ~5:30 pm to approximately 8:00 pm we will hold our mock meet at the North Pool.

Set up will begin at 4:00 pm, Coach Claire asked that the swimmers report to the pool by 4:30 pm to warm up, and the meet will start immediately after the parent meeting.

We will NOT swim any relays, we will try to swim as many individual events as we can.

The mock meet is a good opportunity for those swimmers not familiar with how a swim meet runs to become familiar with where they need to be and when.

Please feel free to bring a picnic dinner as concessions will not be operating, and do not forget your lawn chairs!

Also – if anyone needs a swim cap, they will be available for sale.

I am in need of some help! We will not be operating the scoring room for this meet. Still in need of the positions listed below.  I will be asking for help at/during the meet if needed, but please sign up.

The set up will be very limited as this is just the mock meet – all lane lines will be installed, clerk of course benches into position, the starting blocks into position, and starting system setup.

The clerk of course will need help!  We will be writing swimmers names on the cards, and we will need runners to quickly get them to the timers. So we need runners!

Any trained officials that would like to practice and warn up for the season that would like to participate and rotate though jobs please just let me know and we can work it out.

Remember – a successful mock meet helps us towards having a successful season.

Mock Meet Set Up starts at 4:00 PM

Swimmers are to be at the pool by 4:30 PM for warm ups

Parent Meeting at 5:00 PM

Meet Begins at conclusion of parent meeting.

Meet should be finished around or before 8:00 PM

Please let me know by signing up if you can help!

CONCESSIONS NEWS: Reminder that CONCESSION CARDS are now on sale for $20.00 each.

They will be on sale this week at evening practice and at the mock meet. A concession card is an easy way to purchase concessions without using cash at our home meets.

Any questions – please call or e-mail.

Go Lightning!

Mission Statement

The Lee's Hill Lightning Swim Team is dedicated to the physical and emotional development of its swimmers. We instill in our swimmers and their parents the principles of good sportsmanship, teamwork, competitiveness, community spirit, and individual and team improvement along with the relentless pursuit of fun in the sport of swimming.

"Mainly, I like to have fun. Swimming is all about having fun, and I am firm believer that you should keep swimming as long as you are having fun, but I can say that it becomes much more fun as you get older and learn more about the sport, life, and especially more about yourself".
Scott Goldblatt
