I hope all out swimmers are excited about tonight’s first meet!
We will be keeping an eye on the weather for tonight’s AWAY Exhibition Meet against the Massad YMCA Marlins.
Please remember that the RSL rules state a decision to cancel a meet cannot be made prior to 7:30 pm. We will do our very best to keep everyone informed. For new families waiting out the weather in our cars is all part of the fun of summer swimming!
I am still in need of some volunteers:
Scoring Data Checker – Second Half
Clerk of Course – Second Half
Lane Timer – Lane 1 Second Half
Lane Timer – Lane 5 – Second Half
Lane Timer – Lane 5 – Second Half
Lane Timer – Lane 6 – Second Half
Swimmers will find out what events they will be swimming at morning practice, or at the meet if they cannot come to morning practice. Swimmers - please check in with the coach’s when you arrive at the pool.
I have attached some Lane Timer Training for all retuning or new timers. I will update the part of the training the shows how the cards are filled out, as we are now computer seeding – we should have sheets. Please take a few minutes to review the presentation. We have the best timers in the RSL!
Remember to bring chairs, sunscreen and healthy snacks. Bring water for good hydration.
The pool closes at 4:30 pm to patrons and the gates will reopen at 4:45 pm for meet participants.
Below is the schedule for the meet:
Pool closes and water park is cleared: 4:30 pm
Gates reopen to meet participants: 4:45 pm
Home Team warm-ups: 5:05-5:25 pm
Visiting Team warm-ups: 5:30-5:50 pm
Timers meeting: 5:30 pm in grassy area next to lifeguard office.
Stroke and Turn/Referee Meeting: 5:30 pm at starting equipment
Swimmers for events 1-4 to Clerk of Course: 5:50 pm located in pavilion behind water slides
National Anthem: 5:55 pm
Meet Starts: 6:00 pm
The visiting team sits on the right side of the pool in the grass area and under the canopies. The water park features Kiki's Lunchbox, which will be open during the meet and offers salads, wraps, snacks, candy, ice cream, and much more.
